Watch 'Community' Season Finale Tonight in All It's 8-Bit Glory

The Hollywood Reporter dispatched a first look at the NBC comedy with screen shots of tonight's three-part season finale and described the episode as this:

On Thursday’s episode, they become video game characters to help Pierce (Chevy Chase) stay in the one percent. And The Hollywood Reporter has a first look at the crew’s video game avatars.

Pierce stands to lose his inheritance to his late father’s second-in-command, Gilbert Lawson (Once Upon a Time and Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito). In order to stop him, the study group will have to play through the game.

Community is not a show afraid of creative risk taking. They've been animated before and this is a nostalgic  gamer's dream come true. Be warned though as Buzzfeed reminds viewers,  the final three episodes of Community won't be airing in a row. The first episode will come on at 8pm and then finish off in the 9 and 9:30 slots to allow for 30 Rock's season finale at 8:30.
