DESIGN YOUR OWN TUMBLER AND PRODUCE YOUR OWN DKR/CHRYSLER SPOT
Warner Bros. is kicking up the 'Dark Knight Rises' marketing with some interactive offerings for creative Batman fans. First,
Wired has some background information on the Tumbler Designer
site where you can customize you very own by choosing various colors, weapons and even upload your own patterns using the 360 degree interactive design model.
Once created, the custom mods can be downloaded as wallpaper and shown off in The Dark Knight Rises Tumbler Gallery or the usual social networking suspects. The rebooted Batmobiles can also be taken for a virtual spin on the test track at Wayne Industries‘ Applied Sciences division, by their creators and other interested parties. Those paying attention will note a special section of the testing area wherein Tumbler jockeys can customize the track background as well.

As if designing your own Tumbler wasn't cool enough Warner Bros. has also teamed up with Chrysler to offer a chance to one lucky winner who produces their own "Imported from Gotham City" 30-second commercial using media and music from the suites on their official contest
site. Here are the
details from WB:
Warner Bros. Pictures and the Chrysler brand have teamed up to bring fans the opportunity of a lifetime surrounding the July 20(th) release of "The Dark Knight Rises," the much-anticipated conclusion to the blockbuster Dark Knight trilogy. Today marks the launch of the "Imported from Gotham City" Contest, allowing fans to create an original co-branded TV spot featuring these two iconic brands. Director/writer/producer Christopher Nolan will select the winning spot, which will debut on television around the release of the film.
Contestants will have two weeks to create their "Imported from Gotham City" original commercial utilizing a suite of assets, including: Chrysler 300 car footage, film footage, and music stems from the trailer that contestants can remix for their spot. At the conclusion of the contest, a gallery of submissions will go live on Saturday, June 30, kicking off a four-day public voting period when fans can weigh-in on their favorite Gotham City collaboration.
The top three finalists will be announced online and Christopher Nolan will personally choose the winner. "We're excited for the opportunity to tap into the creative community online and allow those who participate to showcase their talent and passion. We look forward to seeing what unique spots people produce," says Nolan.
It's great to see the studio engage the movie's fans with creative ventures like these. They've also been active in social media and on the internet in the past by using interactive concepts like treasure hunts and flash mobs. We will probably see more marketing gimmicks leading up to the July 20th release and it should ratchet up the anticipation for fans even more. If that is even possible. Get started and good luck.
