As previously
reported Warner Brothers had tapped Will Beall as the writer for their superhero team-up movie of the 'Justice League.' Now it seems that Beall had been at work for some time on the script and a preliminary report, by none other than legendary comic book writer Mark Millar himself, has divulged some interesting (albeit second-hand) information on his forum
Millar World forum. (via

A pal of mine is good friends with the new Justice League screenwriter and said his take on the team is incredible. Very real-world and not at all what you might expect. WB has a chequered history with their superhero characters. They're great with their boy wizards, but less consistent with their DC stable. But my chum said that this could be a thing of beauty and has been in the works for a little while now, not just an avengers knock-off. Best of luck to them. The tidbits I heard sound quite dark and mature, which isn't what I expected. But word on Gangster Squad is great too so I feel this is in really good hands.
This is all premature but if after the eventual rewrites and studio tinkering is done I hope this "real-world" vision is secured. It certainly sounds like WB is taking the Christopher Nolan approach to this feature by making it darker and not as whimsical as say another superhero collective movie that recently obliterated the box office. The upcoming Zack Snyder Superman movie 'Man of Steel' has also been describe as "dark" so it could set the foundation going forward for what to expect from the 'Justice League'. Again, this is all speculation but the whispers sound promising. Let's see who they eventually get to direct and star in the movie as well.
