Stephen King's 'It' Being Adapted Into Two Films

One of my all-time favorite Stephen King books will now not only get one theatrical release but two. Warner Brothers decided that the epic novel with over a thousand pages deserved an appropriate adaptation in the form of two movies by Sundance wunderkind, Cary Fukunaga, who'll direct and co-write. His Jane Eyre was critically acclaimed last year and he's been tapped to do what the network TV adaptation in 1990 couldn't do;bring the book to life in all it's intended Rated R glory.
The story follows a group of kids called the Losers Club that encounter a creature called It, which preys on children and whose favorite form is that of a sadistic clown called Pennywise. When the creature resurfaces, the kids are called upon to regroup again, this time as adults, even though they have no memory of the first battle. (via THR)
The bestseller was released in 1986 and it remains a favorite for its dense cast of characters and the evil clown, Pennywise. It's an enthralling read for the lingering effects of what they encounter as children and the dread that follows them as adults. One of King's best works.
