SDCC: The Next Phase of Marvel Movies Announced

Marvel released movie details for upcoming sequels and new features. After a string of successful solo-hero tales and a blockbuster team-up of 'The Avengers', Marvel announced sequels for Thor, Captain America, and Iron-Man. They also announced new films 'Ant-Man' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. These may not have mainstream awareness or appeal but after the success of Iron-Man, also not well known when released, Marvel is not afraid to delve into their rich history to bring exciting tales to film. They keep proving to be a bankable film studio that is organized and willing to put their best assets on the screen without sacrificing the integrity of their characters. Something I wish DC would do more of.

Ant-Man is the name of several fictional characters appearing in books published byMarvel Comics. Ant-Man was originally the superhero persona of Henry Pym, a brilliant scientist who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Tales to Astonish #27.

After Pym retired his Ant-Man identity, successors Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady have used Pym's technology to take on the role of Ant-Man. (wiki)
