Los Angeles' Very Own Pop Culture Con Returns in November
Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo, the Los Angeles-based comic book, sci-fi, horror and gaming convention, returns on November 1st for three days of geek paradise. Tickets are now on sale for a discount for individual and 3-day passes. Kids under 12 remain free to the event. This upstart show continues to grow with more vendors and guests scheduled to appear as well an expected jump in attendance. The early guest list includes some recognizable faces.
The refreshing approach by a fledgling pop culture expo like this is that it hasn't been overrun by corporate and media behemoths yet and still feels small enough to not completely overwhelm fans. You can navigate the floor without the crushing wave of humanity impeding your perusing of comics, t-shirts, costumes, toys, or other vendors. Panels still fill up fast but you won't be spending half the day waiting for one and miss the rest of the expo. Stan Lee makes an appearance on stage to take questions from fans on the floor. Elvira herself, as co-sponsor of the expo, will also be on hand and is always a big draw for photos and autographs. Artists and writers are also on hand. The expo will be taking over more of the convention floor this year to make room for more gaming tournaments and more as of yet unannounced events. Expect more updates as Comikaze adds more guests, events, and probably another cast reunion or two. Stay tuned!
