ALL-NEW GHOST RIDER #1 Hits the Streets of East LA with a Vengeance

“ENGINES OF VENGEANCE” PART 1 - A street race leads a young man on the FAST and FURIOUS road of destiny. Amid an East Los Angeles neighborhood running wild with gang violence and drug trafficking, a war brews in the criminal underworld! With four on the floor, Marvel’s newest GHOST RIDER puts vengeance in overdrive!!!
A new Ghost Rider will join the Marvel Universe with a few differences from the current flaming skullhead on a motorcycle. Mechanic Robbie Reyes lives in East Los Angeles with his disabled brother struggling to make ends meet and surrounded by gang activity. Robbie is forced to raise some money by street racing and borrows a Dodge Charger muscle car to try and secure a win. As you'd expect things go haywire leading to some life changing consequences in this tautly told and feverishly drawn new series.

Felipe Smith writes a tight script that develops momentum as the action increases. He sets Robbie in a realistic world with natural sounding dialogue without excessive amounts of exposition. He really always Tradd Moore to help tell the story with magnificent penciling that expresses immense detail and world building of the seldom seen in the comics East LA. As the race draws closer so does the urgency of the panels. They take on different schemes, as though leaning forward anxiously trying to break free from the placid beginning to get to the ferocious ending. Colors provided by Nelson Daniels and Val Staples set the tone early but then set pages on fire once the hot rod throttles forward and Robbie's transformation begins. Moore makes ALL NEW GHOST RIDER the explosive debut it deserves to be.
