After a couple of months of rumors and whispers of a casting search for a "young, athletic black actor" it seems Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. found him on Broadway as stage actor Ray Fisher will be playing Victor Stone, the young man who becomes Cyborg, in the Man of Steel sequel according to Variety.
The sequel known as Batman vs Supeman unofficially is apparently fielding members of the Justice League for an expected cameo that leads to a movie that should include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and now it would seem Cyborg. Known for his membership in the Teen Titans then the Justice League in the comics, Victor Stone, is a superhero who is half man and half machine. His body was destroyed in a tragic accident, but he was saved through experimental technology; his body parts have been replaced with a large arsenal of high-tech gadgets and weaponry, while constantly providing life support.
This adds some much needed racial diversity to the cast but more importantly adds a relevant and popular hero known to thousands of fans from the comics, animated shows and video games. It could mean a small cameo for Cyborg, probably something that leads to his origin, and could very well mean the same for other members of the League.
Dwayne The Rock Johnson's name is still out there because he confirmed he's on board for some DC project in some capacity. He could easily have a cameo as any number of heroes (or villains). It's still a Superman movie but with some world building in mind as well. The cameos should not take away from the Man of Steel but instead build up momentum for a team-up movie.
Ray Fisher played Muhammed Ali on Broadway in "Fetch Clay, Make Man." He'll join the cast that includes. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams.
