From Downton Abbey to Hell's Kitchen: Charlie Cox will be Netflix's 'Daredevil'


After Latino Review posted the rumor this morning about Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) being considered for the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the Marvel/Netflix show of the same name it is now confirmed. The Brit is the first actor cast in the drama series based on the comic book blind lawyer turned heroic vigilante.


The show also gained a new showrunner in Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) after Drew Goddard (Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) chose to helm Sony's Sinister Six instead.

Cox has apparently become a hot property after appearing in Downtown Abbey, Boardwalk Empire, Stardust and a couple of failed pilots.

The Marvel-Netflix deal will bring The Defenders in a mini-series after featuring Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist but first Daredevil with 13 episodes.
