'Gotham' Extended Trailer Released Features Young Batman, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Penguin

The big news here isn't that Fox confirmed a series order for the Batman prequel drama, Gotham, but that they released a teaser then a full length trailer for the show (the extended one is below). We finally got a look how after months of casting news, set photos and descriptions it all fits together with Ben McKenzie as young detective James Gordon in a world before Batman.

In the extended trailer there is a bit of world building as Gotham City suffers from rampant mob crime and detectives Gordon and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) are tasked to try and clean up the streets. A young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) witnesses his parents shot and killed in front of him. He is consoled by Gordon vowing to find the killer. Crime boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is ready to take over the underworld. A rogues gallery montage of Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), and Poison Ivy end the clip promoting their origin stories.

The look and tone seems to be dark and serious with a lot of promise but it'll be interesting to see how they incorporate the young rogues into this Gotham without a Batman yet. Gotham premieres in the Fall on Fox television.
