Wonder Woman Gets Digital-First Weekly Comic Under Sensation Comics Name

In a move long overdue from DC Comics, they announced that the oft-ignored third prong of their Holy Trinity, Wonder Woman, will be getting a digital-first comic entitled Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman after the 1940's series that predominately starred the Amazon princess. 

“With the success of LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT and ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, giving Wonder Woman her own digital anthology series makes perfect sense. With this series creators can dream up unique takes on the Amazon Princess to give fans a new adventure every week. We’re very excited about the line-up, and readers won’t want to miss the sensational action-packed Wonder Woman stories we have planned for the coming weeks and beyond.” - Hank Kanalz, DC Comics VP

And like the other digital series mentioned Sensation Comics will feature a changing group of creative talent and unique stories not bound by continuity.  After three installments they'll also be sold as physical comics. The impressive list of artists and writers include Gail Simone, Ethan Van Sciver, Lauren Beukes, Cecil Castellucci, Amanda Deibert, Caitlin Kittredge, James Tynion IV, Georges Jeanty, Chris Sprouse, and Cat Staggs. 

It looks like WW will finally have more stories out in the market like Batman and Superman have had for years. It's no coincidence that with the Man of Steel sequel in the works with a live-action Wonder Woman the publisher is capitalizing on her popularity. Something that should have been done decades ago. Anyway, for those fans who weren't enamored with the New 52 run by Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang (which is excellent by the way) then they'll get another take on WW from a revolving group of creatives.
