Sony Pictures announced it will be returning Ivan Reitman's 1984 comedy classic Ghostbusters back to theaters for a limited engagement to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary on August 29th. That's just the beginning because there are numerous events and entertainment releases to follow.
The blockbuster movie about spirit exterminators battling ghosts running amok in New York City starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will be fully restored and remastered for release in 700 theaters in the U.S. and Canada.

The original and the sequel get a sweet Blu-ray set with new added materials available September 16.

LEGO is producing replicas of the ECTO-1 after fans voted the necessary 10,000 submissions to get it made.
Sony Pictures in collaboration with Gallery 1988 has a traveling art show featuring unique pieces based on scenes and characters from the movie. Limited edition prints, original artwork and apparel will be available viewing and purchase.
The show debuted in New York and traveled to Los Angeles leaving fans clamoring for more Ghostbusters! The Ghostbusters show is now stopping in Chicago at Rotofugi Gallery, 2780 N. Lincoln, opening June 20th from 7-10 PM. This will run through June 22nd. And finally, it will stop at Comic Con, on the convention floor, at booth #1806, before it is gone forever.
