Looking Wet and Handsome is Henry Cavill in First Shot as Superman Plus Some Words from Zack Snyder

Nothing can brighten a gloomy Gotham City rooftop like a buffed and square-jawed superhero whose "S" should stand for sexy. At least that's our impression of the first photo Warner Bros. released to USA Today of Henry Cavill as Superman in what sure looks like Batman's hometown. It's a fantastic image and the suit appears to have only minor changes from the previous film. They also interviewed director of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Zack Snyder and he shared some insights about redefining the DC Universe on film. Most of his comments made sense.

Snyder spoke with Brian Truitt and said he imagined one day adapting Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns but never thought he'd pit Batman against Superman in anything else.
"I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie," Snyder says, "but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in."
On working with Cavill again:
"We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit," he says. "The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me."
On jumping right into the veteran Batman portrayal:
"it's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys."
On filming a few scenes with Cavill and Ben Affleck together:
"It's never really been done and it's kinda cool."
On Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (no scenes with her in costume have been filmed yet):
"she's working out and getting buff and ripped."
And whatever this is:
The director can't say exactly how the relationship between the two superheroes evolves, "but suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names" in the movie title, Snyder says. He explains that having the "v" instead of "vs." is a way "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."
Sounds like things are going smoothly and in good hands. Some people seem to forget that Snyder is passionate about these characters too and he's trying to give fans the movie they deserve. There appears to be a plan for DC Comics movies to come as Snyder will be helming the Justice League movie as well. The set-up for that continues in Dawn of Justice. There'll be more to come as we approach San Diego Comic Con.
