#SDCC: 'Agents of SHIELD' Releases the Kraken and Mockingbird for Next Season

The dreaded and highly unoriginal butt shot of a female comic character

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD TV panel was a genial affair with the cast discussing their rookie season and what's in store for season two. The important information to come from the panel was all about characters and casting. Mockingbird will be making the jump from the comics to the series next season. Watch the video announcement below. No actress has been cast just yet.

Entertainment Weekly surprisingly had an exclusive on the video presentation starring Patton Oswalt, who played Agent Koenig last season, that played at today's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. Mockingbird was not the only new character announced.

At the panel, the SHIELD team also confirmed some castings: Lucy Lawless (Spartacus) is joining the show as Isabelle Hartley, Nick Blood will play a mercenary named Lance Hunter who helps with the SHIELD team and Reed Diamond (Moneyball) will play season 2’s big bad Daniel Whitehall, a Hydra villain known as Kraken.
