Robbie Amell, formerly of the CW's now cancelled The Tomorrow People, has joined the Arrow spin-off, The Flash, as Ronnie Raymond aka Firestorm. The cousin of Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, gets another chance on the network as an integral part of the Flash's origin. He'll appear in the third episode of the upcoming season.
Raymond works at STAR Labs and is dating Dr. Caitlin Snow played by Danielle Panabaker. In the comics Raymond fell victim to an explosion of an experimental nuclear power facility along with Dr. Martin Stein. The two were fused together into one nuclear being with Raymond controlling the body and Stein as a voice in his head. They realized they now had special powers; fusion blasts from their hands, phase through solid objects and rearrange atomic matter.
“I’m so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on ‘The Flash.’ Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can’t wait to get started!” - Robbie Amell
