The Hernandez Brothers Highlight This Year's Latino Comics Expo



The highly acclaimed, award-winning Hernandez Brothers, Jaime and Gilbert, will be the Guests of Honor at the 2014 Latino Comics Expo in San Jose, California. The creators of the lauded independent comic book series, Love and Rockets, and other individual work will be making their first appearance at the Expo.


Published by Fantagraphics Books in 1982 the series went on to exemplify the best of independent sequential art in a marketplace dominated by the big two publishers. Known for realistic depictions of a cast of characters that stretched between Mexico and California that sometimes involved some magical realism. The funny but heartfelt stories have transcended their solo work involving the same characters in separate settings. 

The complete line-up of the Expo has not been announced yet but make plans to attend this October 11 & 12 at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library on the campus of San Jóse State University for this free, two-day event.
