Nicholas D’Agosto Cast as Harvey Dent on 'Gotham' But Will We See Two-Face?

It seems Fox’s Gotham isn’t satisfied with the number of villains already planned to appear in some form on the show because they’ve just added Harvey Dent in the line-up. Nicholas D’Agosto (Master of Sex) has been cast to a guest starring role, with an option for a recurring role with a season two pick-up, as the idealistic district attorney that is scarred physically and mentally and transforms into the villain Two-Face.

With the younger versions of the Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and reportedly Joker appearing on the show Dent might be the easiest to integrate. Setting aside comic book canon for a minute, having a young crusader of justice in the D.A.’s office would make a great ally for Jim Gordon  to fight the corruption and  crime that has engulfed Gotham City. Although, traditionally Dent had been an ally of an adult Batman but on the show Bruce Wayne is still a kid.

The question is will Harvey Dent turn into Two-Face or will the seeds of his mental disorder play out for a long time? In the comics, mob boss Sal Maroni throws acid on the left side of Dent's face, grotesquely scarring him and driving him insane.

The chances of a second season renewal are pretty good so far considering it’s been able to draw and retain most of its audience over the first  two weeks in the face of stiff Monday night competition.
