#NYCC: 'Archie Meets Predator' Slated for Spring 2015 from Dark Horse and Archie Comics

News of an Archie/Predator crossover was received with predictable snark online but if you're not psyched for this mash-up then you're clearly an opponent of fun. Dark Horse Comics and Archie Comics are coming together in spring of 2015 to put out Archie Meets Predator in a 4-part miniseries.

Written by Alex de Campi with art from famous Archie artist Fernando Ruiz the kids from Riverdale find themselves the prey of the famous alien hunter while on spring break in Costa Rica.

For me, having Fernando on the book is crucial, because he brings this air of fun and light and innocence to the characters, so the story becomes more like a Final Destination film where you never see or expect the dreadful thing coming until it happens. He has the most beautiful, easy, fluid line with these characters — he'll really sell the interpersonal dramas that get the story rolling, and I know he'll have fun with some of the gory stuff, too. - De Campi

Predator has had a long shelf life beyond its 1987 theatrical release. Quotes from the film still live on with all the irony still intact. Its sequels and comic book adaptations have continued to make it a popular property.

Here are some to help jog the memory:
