'Justice League: Throne of Atlantis' Gets a Release Date and Full Length Trailer

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation announced the release date for Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and now have released a full length trailer for Aquaman's coming out party. 

Based on the story arc between Justice League and Aquaman comic books created by Geoff Johns this is the revamped origin of the future King of Atlantis. When the New 52 rebooted the Justice League, Arthur Curry was noticeably absent. It became apparent with the Throne of Atlantis arc that his introduction would be a lot more momentous than expected. Johns has done an incredible job of reestablishing Aquaman as a regal and powerful champion of justice and no longer the butt of jokes. 

After the events of Justice League: War, Ocean Master and Black Manta have declared a war against the surface in retaliation of the aftermath of Apokoliptian-tyrant Darkseid's planetary invasion. Queen Atlanna seeks out her other son, Ocean Master’s half-brother Arthur Curry, a half-human with aquatic powers with no knowledge of his Atlantean heritage, to restore balance.

Living with powers he doesn’t understand and seeing the danger around him, Curry takes steps to embrace his destiny, joining the Justice League, and with his new teammates he battles to save Earth from total destruction.(Wiki)

 The voice talent includes Matt Lanter (Aquaman) and Sam Witwer (Orm) and a host of familiar names/voices, including Jason O’Mara as Batman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Christopher Gorham as Flash, and Sean Astin as Shazam, all reprising their roles from the last New 52 animated movie, Justice League: War. Other reprisals will see Jerry O’Connell voicing Superman again, Rosario Dawson returning as Wonder Woman and Nathan Fillion coming back as Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. Sumalee Montano, a DC Comics animation veteran as Katana on Beware the Batman, will voice Mera, the love interest and future queen to Aquaman’s future King.

From Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and DC Entertainment comes Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, the latest DC Universe Original Movie. Look for this new full-length animated DC Comics adventure on January 27, 2015 on Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD.
