An Actual 'Ant-Man' Trailer Finally Arrives

Marvel finally delivered a proper teaser trailer for the upcoming Ant-Man during the two-hour premiere of ABC's Agent Carter. After some cutesy promotions like the "ant-sized" teaser for the teaser and the new poster with the microscopic superhero dead center and nearly unseen (see below) the surprisingly serious and straight-forward trailer delivers some new footage.

Narrated by Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, he enlists Paul Rudd who plays thief Scott Lang to find redemption as the new Ant-Man. The montage of scenes feature a lot of serious Rudd with his daughter, in the Ant-Man suit, in shrink mode, and riding the backs of insects. It looks pretty action-packed without giving a lot of plot details. We catch glimpses of Evangeline Lily, Darren Cross, Corey Stoll and of course Douglas.

Yet not much humor at this stage except for the final quip by the usually affable Rudd ("Is it too late to change the name?"). The much publicized departure of original director Edgar Wright was a major cause of concern to many fans but the teaser at least shows that Peyton Reed is competent. We should have more to go by as the July 17 release date draws closer.
