'Arrow' Promo Features Laurel in 'Black Canary' Mode Whether You Like It or Not

Justice is the new black. Arrow is all new Wednesdays at 8/7c!
With Ollie still MIA and on the mend(?) far from Starling City, justice still needs to be served as Brick makes a big power play in the Glades. That leaves Team Arrow on their own, but Arsenal is more than willing to fill the void left behind. Joining him, as we saw in the last episode, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has taken up the mantle for her dearly departed sister as Black Canary.

The new promo trailer features a lot of Laurel as the new Black Canary kicking ass and proving that "justice is the new black." It could be a move that will turn public opinion more positively towards Laurel who's been a divisive character for many viewers. Her character has been described as under-developed, annoying, superfluous, whiny, or worse. The writers may have finally positioned her to be on her destined path as the Canary of comic book canon.

She's been through a lot of turmoil, some of it convoluted, but she's never been more relevant than now. So here's hoping the internet critics have a change of heart now that Laurel has become a vital part of protecting the city while Ollie is elsewhere.

Here's the sypnopsis:
"Arsenal and Diggle confront Laurel about trying to step into her sister's shoes and warn her to stop before she gets herself killed. Meanwhile, Brick kidnaps the city's aldermen and threatens to kill them unless the police evacuate the Glades; and Malcom tells Thea that Ra's al Ghul is after him and his family, and that they must leave town immediately."
