Carrie Anne Moss Joins the Marvel/Netflix Mini “A.K.A. Jessica Jones”

The casting continues on Netflix’s Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones as they’ve added Matrix alum Carrie Anne Moss in an undisclosed role. There’s plenty of strong female characters as this latest addition comes on the heels of Rachael Taylor joining the miniseries as best friend to Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Moss famously played Trinity in the seminal Matrix trilogy along with Keanu Reeves, Lawrence Fishburne and directed by the Wachowski siblings.
Here is the official press release from Marvel:

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce that Carrie-Anne Moss will star in "Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones," an all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015 following "Marvel's Daredevil."
Moss plays a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica...if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.

Moss will star opposite Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker) in the Netflix original series. “Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones” was developed by Executive Producer/Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.

“Throughout her career, Carrie-Anne has embodied a wide range of characters in a compelling and relatable way and I have no doubt she will bring that talent to A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” said Rosenberg.

“Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer/Marvel’s Head of Television. “Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series.”

Moss starred as Trinity in all three films of the Matrix trilogy, and in her 25-year career she has also starred in “Memento,” “Chocolat,” and “Disturbia,” as well as more than two dozen other feature films. Past TV credits include roles on “Vegas,”  and “Crossing Lines.”
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
"Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
