Papa Midnite Seeks Revenge in the 'Constantine' Season Finale Trailer
The dreaded end of season one for NBC’s supernatural thriller Constantine, based on the Hellblazer series from DC Comics/Vertigo comic book series. The show has had a rocky season ratings-wise, although steadily improving in demo, but the quality has only grown exponentially garnering a loyal and vocal fan base. It has not been renewed for another season. This Friday marks the season finale as the network decided to end its run with 13 episodes instead of the usual 22 for a full season. The show’s future still hangs in the balance and a great ratings spike couldn’t hurt.
Whatever the future holds for the series it's going out with a bang. In 'Waiting for the Man', Papa Midnite returns to go another round with John while Det. Corrigan seeks a little assistance. Here's the official synopsis:
“John and Zed return to New Orleans when Detective Jim Corrigan (guest star Emmett Scanlan) asks for their help in the case of a missing girl. Papa Midnite (guest star Michael James Shaw) takes steps toward exacting his revenge on John. Meanwhile, the truth behind the Rising Darkness comes to light.”
There is a floating rumor giving fans a shred of hope that NBC is considering moving Constantine to their sister cable station, Syfy. No confirmation yet but it would make sense if they made that move instead of canceling the show altogether. The audience could be better served there than the fickle landscape of network television.
“Waiting for the Man” is set to air Friday, February 13 at 8 P.M. EST.
A showdown with Papa Midnite looms on the season finale of Constantine, Friday at 8/7c on NBC.
