First Look at Megalyn Echikunwoke In Costume as the Live-Action Vixen

The transformation is complete as DC Entertainment just released the first image of Megalyn Echikunwoke in costume as the live-action version of Vixen. No longer just the voice of the character in the self-titled web series on CW Seed, Megalyn looks ready to strike as the newest hero to make the jump from comics to animation and now to live-action television. She'll appear this season on CW's 'Arrow.'
A street smart model who inherits a mysterious family heirloom that grants her the powers of the animal kingdom, Mari first met Green Arrow and the Flash during the debut season of her series, but fans won't have to wait until the second season of Vixen debuts to see her reunite with at least one half of that superheroic duo. Look for Vixen to appear in the Episode 15 of Arrow, which is entitled "Taken."
Inexplicably, the CW rolled out the animated 'Vixen' series in a number of 3-5 minute episodes online instead of longer self-contained videos. It was basically one 30-minute episode chopped up into smaller pieces. Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Emily Bett Rickards, and Carlos Valdes also provided voices for their animated counterparts on the show. Megalyn will now guest star on the 'Arrow' with Amell and Rickards in person.

If the animated series was some sort of beta test for the character, then we're hoping this guest spot will lead to a solo live-action show of her own. If she does Vixen would be the first CW superhero show led by a woman. There's also the possibility of her joining CW's superhero team 'Legends of Tomorrow.'

In the meantime, check out the animated series that's been mercifully edited into one entire 30-minute episode.
