'Gotham' Snags 'Once Upon a Time's Jamie Chung for Season 3

Jamie Chung (Big Hero 6, Sucker Punch) is headed to 'Gotham' as dogged reporter Valerie Vale. If that surname sounds familiar it should. Vicki Vale is traditionally the famous reporter from the Gotham Gazette who followed Batman's exploits in the comics, animation, and in film (Kim Basinger played the role in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman). With 'Gotham' being a Batman prequel, Chung is Vicki's aunt. 

The description provided by TVLine, who first reported the casting, sounds like Valerie serves as the inspiration for the young Vicki Vale.

Gotham Gazette‘s newest hire, Valerie is a crackerjack reporter dead set on uncovering the truth behind Indian Hill. Confident and dogged, she will do anything to get the scoop, and soon sets her sights on Gordon, who she believes is the key lead in her story.

Chung joins 'Gotham' as it continues to embrace its crazy storytelling and eclectic rouges gallery. The third season will welcome the Mad Hatter and an older Poison Ivy, both not cast yet. More bizarre, maybe not for 'Gotham,' is Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) doppelganger with long hair. We saw Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) deal with his alter ego in a similar way when he embraced his dark side. Now we'll see Bruce deal with an actual double. 

Oh, if that weren't enough there's Hugo Strange's bus full of monsters to deal with. Jim Gordon will have his hands full this coming season. 

'Gotham' returns for season three on Monday, September 19.
