Animated 'Justice League Dark' Movie Preview with Matt Ryan Back as Constantine

We don't know if we'll ever see a live-action film starring John Constantine, Zantanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman and others from DC Comics' magical wing but we do know the animated version, Justice League Dark, is coming. Here's a comprehensive behind-the-scenes featurette with tons of details, previews, and interviews with the creators about what we can expect this fall.

One of the best parts is the return of Matt Ryan as the voice of John Constantine. He played the role in live-action on the criminally short-lived series on NBC, Constantine. He also reprised the role for an episode of the CW's Arrow. Here he says he wanted to approach the character from a different context and producers felt lucky to have him part of the project.

He’s joined by Camilla Luddington (Grey’s Anatomy) as Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro (Blue Bloods) as Deadman, Ray Chase as Jason Blood/Etrigan The Demon, and Jason O’Mara once again playing the role of Batman. The cast comment on their characters and we hear from director Jay Oliva, producer James Tucker, creative director of animation Mike Carlin also expand on what makes these supernatural heroes different from the classic Justice League team.

Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman will also make brief appearances.

A live-action feature film has been in and out of development for years by the same name and as "Dark Justice." 'Pacific Rim' and 'Hellboy' director Guillermo del Toro had been attached to direct and/or produce but his ever-growing busy schedule has made that possibility unlikely. Yet, this animated home video looks well-executed with the supernatural characters fans love and a lot of attention to detail.

No release date has been announced but is expected this fall on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital.
