New 'Rogue One' Trailer Adds Great Spectacle and Story Details

If you were looking for more details and context about the upcoming Star Wars spin-off "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," then today's release of what's being called the final trailer should enlighten and sate your thirst until December 16.

Thursday morning on ABC's 'Good Morning America,' the new full-length trailer was revealed further detailing the development of the Death Star and the plucky band of rebels looking to derail its creation. A new poster was released yesterday that featured the paradise planet of Scarif with images of Darth Vader and the rest of the cast.

In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
The trailer offers more footage and flashbacks namely with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her father Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) who's recruited by the evil Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) to help develop the Death Star.

A montage of battle scenes take place, an apparent jail break, a couple of voice-overs describing the dire situation against the Empire, and some motivational words from Jyn. There's also more dialogue from Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, and Forest Whitaker. "Save the Rebellion," Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera cries out. "Save the dream."

And a cameo from everybody's favorite villain Darth Vader.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens nationwide on December 16.
