‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Trailer Finally Delivers Thanos Against the MCU
The highly-anticipated first trailer for “Avengers: Infinity War” arrived Wednesday and it did not disappoint the fans. Marvel Studios premiered the official trailer during ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if we could become something more. So when they needed us, we could fight the battles that they never could,” the trailer begins with the voiceover of several characters. The dramatic tone gives way to a barrage of scenes including the arrival of Thanos (Josh Brolin) himself who's in a punchy mood. It's the superhero team-up Marvel fans have been waiting for.
The Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and just about every other Marvel hero in the MCU join together to take on the Mad Titan who is trying to collect the Infinity Stones. It's the culmination of 10 years and nearly 20 movies of remarkable success and staying power that Marvel Studios have demonstrated with their sole product: fan-friendly action films.
SYNOPSIS: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the ensemble cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Brolin as Thanos, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord. Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cobie Smulders, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, and Don Cheadle will also appear in the film.
