Rob Williams and Sergio Davila Launch New Series with Dynamite's PROJECT SUPERPOWERS

After their biggest launch of the year to date, Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce the release of Project Superpowers #1. Picking up from the special introductory priced #0 issue, the exciting new series kicks into high gear with the fan-favorite creative team of writer Rob Williams (Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn) and artist Sergio Davila (Injustice, Superman) at the helm. As part of the series 10th-anniversary celebration, this first issue features an all-star line-up of cover artists and special retailer incentives.

The Project Superpowers heroes came from the past, now they have to prove their relevance in the modern world. A 21st Century threat is coming for us all. What dread secrets does The Death Defying Devil hold? The Lighthouse will rise and the Spirit of The American Flag will take on a new host. But will it be enough? Can superheroes still save the day? Williams got his start in 2002 as a publisher/creator with Com.X then worked with a variety of publishers including Dynamite, 2000A.D. and Marvel before landing with DC where he started his critically-acclaimed on-going run of Suicide Squad in October 2016 that continues on 38 issues later.

Davila began his professional career with Dynamite on the Lord of the Jungle series in 2012 and has provided work for Red Sonja, Vampirella and other of the publisher’s top series. He has recently started working with DC on Wonder Woman and Superman but jumped at the chance to draw Dynamite’s most powerful heroes.

“For the 10th Anniversary of Project Superpowers, we knew we had to go the extra 10 miles! ;-) We were able to bring in the incredible team of Rob Williams and Sergio Davila, and we’re releasing the #0 at .10 cents for the 10th Anniversary to gain as many fans as possible, to lead in and have the biggest impact possible for #1!” States Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci.  “We couldn’t be more excited to present the new series to fans!  Just check out some of the art to #0 complemented by the incredible covers by some of the best artists in the industry today!”

Project Superpowers #1 has covers by superstar artist Francesco Mattina, John Royle, Philip Tan, Sergio Davila, Ed Benes, Stephen Segovia and J.G. Jones. Plus retailer incentive covers featuring ‘Black & White’ versions of Tan and Royle covers, a ‘Sepia’ version of the Jones cover and ‘Virgin’ versions of Benes and Mattina covers.
