QUICK REVIEW: Finger Guns #1 introduces us to two teens who discover they have the power to change people’s emotions by merely “shooting” them with their finger guns. It's an interesting superpower but the real strength of this debut is the relatable and grounded aspects of these kids' lives. Each with their own family troubles, the two find a kinship that feels magnetic and essential. It's the type of storytelling that transcends genres. It's a story of human yearning for friendship and understanding that has gone neglected.  The superpowers, while clever, is just the common attribute that drives these two characters together. The art is beautifully and clearly illustrated by Val Halvorson and Rebecca Nalty. Finger Guns is a fantastic debut that is both wondrous and melancholy full of heart and imagination.
